The Qualifying Round of the 2010 Senior Inter Counties was held at the Airport Bowl over Saturday/Sunday 5th/6th June, Berkshie entered a Men and Ladies team and they both qualified for the Finals in October.

Over the month of May AMF Nottingham staged the NAYBC 2010 Junior National Championships, Lakside YBC, Newbury, featured in the final Medals table.

Alison Taylor qualified for the 2010 UK Championships held at the Lakeside Superbowl, Nuneaton, on the 23rd May.

In the Division A Ladies Qualifying Round Alison came fourth out of the top eight qualifying spots for the Round Robin Final, in the Round Robin Final Alison won the first four games, lost the fifth and came back to win the sixth but lost the last two and finished in fourth place

Senior Team England went over the water to Jersey to take part in the Senior Triple Crown 2010 from 22nd to 25th April, the England Ladies Team included Jackie Atkinson and Tricia Outrim,

In the six game Singles Event England took the top two places with Tricia in second place and Jackie finished in fifth place, England also took the top two places in the Doubles Event with Jackie and Tricia partnership winning the first place medals, Jackie and Tricia then joined up with Irene O’Hara to win the Trios Event, not to be outdone they went on the win the Team Event and this gave Tricia first place in the All Events with Jackie in fifth place, the top eight qualified for the Masters.

Out of the seven games in the Maters Tricia won four of her matches and finished in second place, Jackie won three for fifth place.

The Senior England Ladies team won the Triple Crown but the Men’s team came second to Ireland

To retain their Senior Team England places, Jackie Atkinson and Tricia Outrim went to Basildon for Round Four of the Team England ranking events

Round One finished with Tricia in fourth place and Jackie in eighth spot, it all changed in Round Two and Jackie had good set and climbed up to third place and Tricia dropped to fifth place, but both qualified for the Round Robin Final

It all changed again in the Round Robin, Tricia managed to win four of her games and this moved her up to second place, Jackie won two and drew one and finished in fifth place.

This is the draw for the 2010 Senior Inter County Qualifying Rounds which will be played on the 5th/6th June, Berkshire is in the Southern Group which has thirteen teams, seven teams bowl on Saturday and six teams bowl on Sunday, Berksire is in the Sunday squad and has a Mens and Ladies Team.

In the 49th BTBA Nationals which took place over the first three weekends in March at the Lakeside Superbowl,Nuneaton, two Ladies from Berkshire made the top ten places.

In the Division A Singles Alison Taylor finished in fourth place and also made fifteenth place in the Division A All Events and qualified for the UK Chanpionships, and Jackie Atkinson came third in the Senior Women All Events.

The Under 14 and Under 16 Junior Inter Counties 2010, was held at AMF, Nottingham on the 6th/7th March, 2010, this is a new format, Bershire only entred a Boys Team.

During the recent South of England Junior Open at Go Bowling, Dunstable, Elliot Crosby of Newbury YBC lit the fuse with his first three games. Elliot became the first boy to shoot an 800 series breaking Laura Montgomery’s all-comers record of 802 set in 2008. He hit games of 238, 289, 279 for an 806, also his personal best series.

Adam Maher backed him up with a 605 series to help them to the Senior Boys Scratch doubles record of 1411. Elliot had not finished his onslaught. In the next three games he posted another record in the Senior boys singles event with 279 207 275 and a series of 761. And he still some left in the tank. He helped his Newbury team into 3rd place scratch with another 700 series, shooting 703 which gave him a grand total of 2270 for his 9 games.

This is not only the senior boys all events record but is also the highest 9 game block by anyone of any age in the history of the tournament. An exceptional performance!!

Jason Agate is in the YAC Team England Squad for selection to represent England in the 2010 World Youth Championships.

The World Youth Championships 2010 will take place at the Tali Bowl in Helsinki, Finland, from July 23 to August 1, 2010.

The first of the Senior Team England Ranking tournaments began with a stop at AMF Leeds on Saturday/Sunday 30/31 January, Tricia Outrim and Jackie Atkinson looking to retain the England places, and Tricia started well making second place in Round 1 with Jackie in tenth place, Round 2 and Tricia maintained second place spot with Jackie moving up to eighth place just 21 pins short of making the Round Robin final, in the R/R final Tricia only won one game and finished in fifth place.
