On Tuesday 13th June, 15 year old Jason Agate's dream came true. Having scored 217 and 178 in his first two games, Jason hit the big one -
the perfect game, for a 695 series. Jason was playing on lanes 3 and 4, in the adult Cinderella Scratch League, at Hollywood's Bracknell Bowl. First person to
congratulate Jason was his dad Pete, who was playing in the same league, but on a different pair of lanes.
"I went Brooklyn in the fifth frame, but it carried, and that was the only bad ball in the game" Jason said. He was using a
15lb Storm Vertigo ball.
Jason's feat did not come as a surprise to many bowlers who
know him. Only last year he was asked to be a pacer in the YAC Triple Crown
tournament at the Airport Bowl, and opened up with 9 in a row in one of his games.
Last month, in the same league, he shot a 280 game. He also has a 3 game high
series of 753, and that doesn't include his 300 game.

This is a letter from Bernie Fisher, the Berkshire Area BTBA Chairman in reply to the report above from Peter Keeling on the YAC Inter Counties.
Berkshire County have given help in that they have raised funding and paid for the entry of this event for the team. The Chairman and the other members of the Executive Committee of the Berkshire BTBA are always looking for help in raising funding and promoting and improving the profile of Berkshire ten pin bowling and valid, preferably constructive, criticism is given a fair hearing. Unless Berkshire members attend meetings and make their feelngs known it is difficult to know how we can improve ten pin bowling in Berkshire. We are not aware of Peter having attended any AGM's or other Berkshire BTBA meetings during the last few years , the Chairman, Bernie Fisher, would like to invite Peter and his son and any other members of the team who feel they can help with improving support offered by the County, to the AGM, details and date of which will be posted on this website.

A report from Peter Keeling, YAC Inter Counties 25th/26th February 2006
It was an outstanding performance from such a young team (average age was 17), and I was delighted that we managed to qualify for the Round Robin pipping Sussex by only 14 pins (Phew!), After the first three games in the Round Robin with an average of 799 a game. I must confess I started to think the unthinkable. Unfortunately we then encountered the three heaviest hitting teams in a row. Regardless I believe this is a highly creditable performance, well worthy of some recognition at a county level.
Who knows what might have been achieved with a little more support from the county
