Berkshire Closed Championships/H/cap Double Event Sunday 9th May</ti= tle> <o:SmartTagType namespaceuri=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name=3D"PlaceName"/> <o:SmartTagType namespaceuri=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name=3D"PlaceType"/> <o:SmartTagType namespaceuri=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name=3D"place"/>  <style>  </style>  </head> <body lang=3DEN-GB style=3D'tab-interval:36.0pt'> <div class=3DSection1> <o:p> </o:p> <st1:place = w:st=3D"on">Berkshire</st1:place> Closed Championships/H/cap Double= Event Sunday 9th May<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> I would like to thank all= 36 bowlers who entered our Berkshire Closed Championships held at the Hollywood Bowl Bracknell; yesterday I sincerely hope you enjoyed the day. <o:p> </o:p> We saw some mixed scoring= on the same pairs of lanes as some bowlers adapted to the conditions better than others; all of the scores have been recorded and will appear in the usual w= ay via Brian on the web-site. <o:p> </o:p> I would just like to pick= up on a couple of special scores, Clare Woodage had a wonderful last game of 186, Alison Taylor had magnificent 2nd & 3rd games of = 269 & 258 respectively, and not to be completely out done by the ‘youngsters’ our Senior bowlers led by Steve Rollins (not bad f= or a leftie!!) rolled an impressive 244 game whilst Trisha Outrim weighed in on behalf of the Ladies with a 223 game. <o:p> </o:p> The results of the Closed Championships<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Well bowled and many congratulations to our new <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:PlaceType w:st=3D"on= ">County</st1:PlaceType> <st1:PlaceName w:st=3D"on">Champions</st1:PlaceName></st1:place> who are:<= /p> <o:p> </o:p> U14 Girls: Clare Woodage U18 Men’s: Tom West Ladies Champion: Alison Taylor Men’s Champion: Jason Agate Ladies Senior Champion: Trisha Outrim Men’s Senior Champi= on: Steve Rollings<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Handicap Doubles Results<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> It didn’t go unnoti= ced that the pins on one pair of lanes kept falling over whenever the ball so much as glanced the head-pin, not that I’m jealous of course!! Steve & Ia= in Rollins and Steve & Shanine Gill made the most of the conditions to tak= e 1st and 2nd place in the tournament with Pam Sharman & Sharon Wy= llie coming 3rd (a mere pin shy of 2nd spot, definitely a = case of the ‘if only’ syndrome!! <o:p> </o:p> Once again my personal th= anks to everyone who entered, clearly this wouldn’t have been a success witho= ut your support, I hope you can encourage a few more to take part next year.</= p> <o:p> </o:p> Thank you also for suppor= ting our raffle and indeed the sale of vegetable plants courtesy of Janet Page. <o:p> </o:p> Good luck with your bowli= ng for the remainder of the year, best wishes to those who will be representing our County in the Inter county Tournaments, hopefully 2010 will be our Year to = win a few medals. <o:p> </o:p> Derek Crisp Tournament Manager Area Secretary Berkshire = BTBA </div> </body> </html>
